Health Awareness Campaigns

Health Awareness Campaigns,
Empowering Communities Through Knowledge

At the Pierre Foundation, we believe prevention starts with education. Our Health Awareness Campaigns aim to inform and empower individuals and families in Haiti with the knowledge they need to make healthier choices and reduce preventable illnesses.

From hygiene and nutrition to reproductive health and disease prevention, we engage communities through workshops, local media, and school-based outreach.

Our Campaign Focus Areas
Hygiene & Sanitation

We educate children and families on essential hygiene practices, teaching proper handwashing techniques, the importance of using clean and treated water, and safe methods of waste disposal to help prevent the spread of disease and promote healthier, more resilient communities.

Mosquito-Borne Illness Prevention

We provide community-based education on the prevention of mosquito-borne illnesses such as malaria and dengue, teaching families how these diseases are transmitted and how to protect their households using mosquito nets, repellents, and proper environmental sanitation.

Nutrition & Healthy Eating

We promote balanced, nutritious diets by educating families on how to make healthy food choices using locally available ingredients, empowering communities to combat malnutrition with affordable, sustainable, and culturally familiar options.

Women’s Health & Reproductive Education

We provide women and adolescent girls with vital education on safe health practices, menstrual hygiene management, and family planning, empowering them with the knowledge and resources needed to make informed decisions about their bodies, health, and futures.

Child Health & Immunization

We actively promote access to childhood vaccinations and early health interventions, ensuring that children in underserved communities receive timely immunizations, routine checkups, and care that can prevent life-threatening illnesses and significantly reduce child mortality.

Dental Health & Oral Hygiene

We teach children and families the importance of daily oral hygiene practices, such as brushing, flossing, and routine dental care, to prevent cavities and gum disease, fostering lifelong habits that support overall health and well-being, starting from an early age.
