Building brighter futures, one backpack at a time.
Each year, Pierre Foundation hosts a Back-to-School Program in Haiti, distributing more than 200 school bags filled with essential supplies to help children begin the school year prepared to learn, participate, and succeed.
What goes in a bag
Every pack is built around what a Haitian classroom actually asks a child to bring, not what is easiest to donate.
- Notebooks, pencils, pens, and a ruler
- A backpack sturdy enough to last the full year
- Basic hygiene items for boarding and rural students
Distributed with the community, not at it
School directors and local leaders decide who receives a pack, because they know which families are struggling quietly. Diaspora volunteers help gather and ship the supplies, which keeps the cost per child low and the connection to home strong.
