Bringing Care Closer to Home: Pierre Foundation Serves 118 Residents in Atrel

Pierre Foundation continued its healthcare outreach efforts in Haiti through the early months of the year. On February 20, 2026, the Foundation organized a mobile clinic in Atrel, giving 118 community members access to medical professionals, laboratory services, and needed medications.

The clinic prioritized pregnant women and elderly residents, bringing essential health services directly to people who may otherwise struggle to access routine medical care.

Care Beyond a Doctor's Visit

A multidisciplinary team of five physicians, three nurses, two pharmacists, and three laboratory technicians supported the Atrel clinic. Each group played an important role in helping patients move through evaluation, testing, and treatment during the outreach.

Rather than limiting the event to general consultations, the clinic offered several on-site laboratory services. These included complete blood counts, urinalysis, H. pylori testing, blood glucose testing, Widal testing, C-reactive protein (CRP), and antistreptolysin O (ASO) testing.

These services allowed the healthcare team to gather additional information when evaluating participating patients' needs.

Essential Medications Made Available

After medical evaluations, patients received medications based on their individual needs. Available medications included antihypertensives, analgesics, iron supplements, antacids, metformin, vitamin C, folic acid, Peptigel, and antibiotics.

For Pierre Foundation, making medications available alongside consultations and laboratory services is an important part of creating healthcare outreach that meets multiple needs in a single visit.

Continuing the Mission in 2026

By the conclusion of the Atrel clinic, 118 residents had received services, marking another community reached through Pierre Foundation's mobile healthcare initiatives.

The February outreach reflects the Foundation's continued commitment to meeting communities where they are and supporting greater access to healthcare in Haiti, particularly for populations who may be more vulnerable or underserved.
