Pierre Foundation distributed back-to-school supply kits to 175 children at five schools in Haiti on Thursday, October 8, 2026, completing the main phase of its Backpacks for Brighter Futures campaign.

The kits were assembled from supplies that donors bought through an Amazon registry, shipped to Gonaïves, and then delivered to the schools by the Foundation's team in Haiti. Each child received a backpack along with school supplies.

“We started this campaign with a simple goal: that a child in Haiti should never have to start the school year without the tools to learn,” said Schadrac Pierre, Board Chair of Pierre Foundation. “Seeing those backpacks in children's hands is the result of every donor, ambassador and volunteer who stood with us. We are grateful to the school leaders and to our team in Haiti who made this day possible.”

The campaign began in August as a call for backpacks, notebooks, pencils, and other classroom essentials. It grew into a joint effort of donors, six campaign ambassadors from Haiti's music and media community, volunteers, and school staff.

Five Schools, 175 Children

Supplies reached students at the following schools: École Baptiste Conservatrice de Tiboulé (40 children); École Mixte La Renaissance de Terre-des-Nègres (35); Collège Mixte Évangélique Baptiste d'Anse-Rouge (30); Collège Les Frères Pierre d'Anse-Rouge (40); and École Nationale Fondamentale Complète de Magasins Les Rois (30).

École Baptiste Conservatrice de Tiboulé has personal significance for the Foundation: Schadrac Pierre, its Board Chair, attended it in the 1980s. Along with Collège Les Frères Pierre, it received the largest allocation, 40 kits.

For families, the supplies reduce the cost of getting a child ready for school. For students, they are the tools they need to take part in class. Pierre Foundation worked with school leaders and teachers, who know their students' needs best.

Disclosure: Collège Les Frères Pierre d'Anse-Rouge has a family connection to members of Pierre Foundation's leadership. The Foundation discloses this relationship in keeping with its commitment to transparency and accountability. The five schools were selected based on accessibility, given the ongoing security situation in Haiti.

Thanks to Those Who Made It Possible

Pierre Foundation thanks Pastor Charlotin Senat for his support of the distribution. Pastor Senat is a relative of Dr. Nehemie Charlotin Senat, the Foundation's Chief Program Officer, a relationship disclosed here for transparency. The Foundation also thanks the leaders and teachers at all five schools, and the Foundation's staff and volunteers in Haiti who handled the planning, packing, shipping, and delivery.

The campaign also benefited from six ambassadors who used their platforms to spread the word: Flav of Gabel; AndyBeatz, Rabòday artist; Carlo, formerly of Carimi; GregPromo, media personality and blogger; Mac D of Harmonik; and Nodrant, drummer and entrepreneur. The Foundation also thanks every donor who bought supplies, shared the registry, or encouraged others to take part.

Education and Healthcare

Education is central to Pierre Foundation's mission, alongside healthcare. A backpack does not solve every challenge facing schools in Haiti, but it removes one practical barrier for a child and one expense for a family. The two fields reinforce each other: children who are healthy attend school more regularly and learn better, and education helps families make informed decisions about their health. The Foundation's mobile medical clinics and its education programs are built on that connection.

Pierre Foundation will continue its work in education and healthcare, and thanks everyone who helped bring Backpacks for Brighter Futures to 175 children.
