Expanding Access to Care: Pierre Foundation Mobile Clinic Serves 141 Residents in Terre des Nègres

Pierre Foundation continued its community healthcare efforts on March 28, 2026, bringing a mobile clinic to Terre des Nègres and providing health services to 141 residents.

The initiative centered on two priority groups within the community: pregnant women and older adults. Throughout the outreach, participants had access to medical professionals, laboratory testing, and medications, bringing several essential services together in one location.

Healthcare Where It Is Needed

Mobile clinics bring healthcare resources closer to the people they are intended to serve. In Terre des Nègres, Pierre Foundation assembled a team of five physicians, three nurses, two pharmacists, and three laboratory technicians to support the day's activities.

The healthcare team worked across different areas of care, from patient consultations and nursing support to laboratory testing and medication distribution.

Diagnostic Testing Available On-Site

Participants were able to receive several laboratory tests during the clinic, including complete blood counts, urinalysis, H. pylori testing, blood glucose testing, Widal testing, C-reactive protein (CRP), and antistreptolysin O (ASO) testing.

Providing these services on-site gave medical professionals additional clinical information to support their evaluations and determine appropriate care for individual patients.

Providing Medications to Patients

The outreach also included distributing medications based on patient needs. Available medications included antihypertensives, analgesics, iron supplements, antacids, metformin, vitamin C, folic acid, Peptigel, and antibiotics.

The combination of consultations, diagnostic services, and access to medications allowed the Terre des Nègres clinic to address several aspects of patient care during a single community outreach.

141 Residents, One Community Effort

By the end of the clinic, 141 people had received services, adding another community to Pierre Foundation's growing healthcare outreach efforts in Haiti.

Behind that number were healthcare professionals and volunteers working together to make care more accessible to residents, especially pregnant women and elderly community members.

As Pierre Foundation continues its work, it remains focused on supporting communities through initiatives that meet practical needs in healthcare and education.
